IMPD investigating after officers find man shot inside of crashed car on Indy's northwest side

IMPD is investigating after a man was found shot in a crashed car on Indy's northwest side the morning of Monday, Aug. 12.

INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD is investigating after a man was found shot in a crashed car on Indy's northwest side Monday morning.

Just after 6 a.m. Aug. 12, IMPD officers responded to West 38th Street and Lafayette Road on a report of a person shot. When police arrived on scene, they found a crashed car and man who had been shot inside of it. 

The victim was taken from the scene to a local hospital, where his condition was described as "stable." 

IMPD said the shooting was not associated with the crash.

Police have not shared additional information about a possible suspect or motive at this time.
