IMPD: Pedestrian killed in Keystone Avenue hit-and-run crash on Indy's near northeast side

INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD is investigating after a pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Indianapolis' near northeast side early Friday.

The incident was reported shortly after 5 a.m. Oct. 11 in the 2600 block of North Keystone Avenue, just north of East 25th Street in the Martindale-Brightwood neighborhood.

Few details were immediately available, but an IMPD spokesperson confirmed the incident was believed to be a fatal hit-and-run crash and the department's fatal crash investigation team was responding to the scene.

The Marion County Coroner's Office will identify the pedestrian once family has been notified.

Keystone Avenue was closed in both directions for several hours Friday morning but has since reopened.
