Over 350,000 Marion County residents vote in 2024 election

A record number of Hoosiers came out to vote and do their civic duty for the 2024 election.

INDIANAPOLIS — A record number of Hoosiers came out to do their civic duty for the 2024 election.

In Marion County, more than 350,000 residents cast their ballots both early and on Election Day, according to the Marion County Election Board. Marion County Clerk Kate Sweeney Bell says that number includes a record-breaking turnout for in-person early voting.

“Our poll workers tirelessly ensured that Marion County elections ran safely, securely, and efficiently. Administering the largest election in Indiana is a daunting task that our team continues to successfully implement year in and year out," Bell said.

As of 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, votes are still being counted, and the totals will be updated. To see the most up-to-date results, click here.

In the first two hours of voting, more than 40,000 Marion County voters have cast their ballots. Lines are long in some places but they are moving! Come vote!!

According to the Marion County Election Board, vote totals are not considered final until all provisional and military ballots have been reviewed, counted and certified by the Marion County Election Board on Nov. 15.
