WHITESTOWN, Ind. — Whitestown Police say a man was killed Sunday night in a fiery crash that involved two semi trailers and three other passenger vehicles.
The crash occurred around 10:30 p.m. Sunday when one of the southbound semis slowed when approaching a construction zone near the 131.8 mile marker and the second semi rear-ended the first, causing the fire.
The fire spread quickly, engulfing the semi.
The Boone County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased as Jose Amador, 42, from Joliet, Illinois.
A secondary accident involved the three passenger vehicles.
The highway was shut down at S.R. 67 as the Boone County Fatal Alcohol Crash team investigated.
Alcohol is not believed to be a contributing factor to the crash.
There were no other injuries.
