Noblesville home fire engulfs garage, homeowner treated for burns

Firefighters battled this fire in the 5000 block of Montview Way in Noblesville on Nov. 26.

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. — A homeowner is recovering after being burnt in a fire in Noblesville on Tuesday, Nov. 26. 

The Noblesville Fire Department said the house was in the 5000 block of Montview Way, near 146th Street and Gray Road. The homeowner smelled smoke and opened their garage. Inside, they found smoke and fire. 

The homeowner backed away from the door and got everyone out of the home, then called 911. 

Noblesville fire crews saw lots of smoke and fire coming from the home when they arrived. They were able to find the seat of the fire in the garage quickly, and got the fire under control. 

The Noblesville Police Department, the Carmel Fire Department and the Westfield Fire Department all helped with the fire. 

Fire investigators have not released the cause of the fire. 

The Noblesville Fire Department is warning residents to use caution with space heaters. Even though it is getting colder, space heaters should never be left alone in a room, plugged into a power strip or used within three feet of a flammable object.
