No one hurt after fire destroys Martinsville home

The fire was reported around 8 p.m. Saturday in the 9000 block of East Big Rock Road in Morgan County.

MARTINSVILLE, Ind. — Nobody was hurt when a Morgan County home went up in flames Saturday evening.

According to a Facebook post by Green Township Fire and Rescue, around 8:02 p.m. on Nov. 23, firefighters were dispatched to the 9000 block of East Big Rock Road, near Dillman Road, in Martinsville on a report of a residence fire.

When firefighters arrived, they saw visible flames and smoke and began to attack the blaze. Eight additional fire departments were called in to help fight the fire. 

No one was home at the time the fire broke out, according to firefighters. While the fire destroyed the house itself, crews were able to keep the fire from spreading to a newly-built garage near the house.
