INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Fire Department is investigating what might have caused a fire to destroy a home on the city's near west side Sunday afternoon.
According to a social media post from IFD, shortly after noon on April 21, firefighters were called to a house fire in the 3600 block of West Michigan Street, near North Tibbs Avenue.
Firefighters arrived on scene and were able to successfully evacuate all of the people inside. IFD said heavy smoke was showing from the back of the two-story home.
The fire was marked under control 30 minutes after firefighters' arrival. No injuries were reported, but IFD said six adults were displaced due to the fire.
The fire's cause is currently under investigation.
