INDIANAPOLIS — The next time you head to Circle Centre Mall, you'll see a few more stores and dining options.
What they all have in common is that they were part of NBA All-Star Weekend in Indianapolis.
Many of them were in "The Intersection," a place in the mall to stop for food and drinks and experience fashion and culture.
"As we look at the rest of the 2024 event schedule, it's a really great time for these retailers to set up shop right here in the heart of downtown Indianapolis," said Luke Aeshliman, senior general manager of Circle Centre Mall.
Shoppers can visit Elegance for men's dress apparel or hang out in the new retro arcade.
There's also new food and drink options. Head up to the dining pavilion for boba tea, burgers and Klooz Brewz, an indoor beer garden.
Mall leaders told 13News these stores are here to keep the energy of The Intersection alive.
"The legacy of the NBA All-Star event was not just for those three days in February, but to put Indianapolis and Circle Centre Mall back on the map for the rest of 2024 events and beyond," Aeschliman said.
Elegance, the arcade and Bobalicious are already open. Klooz Brewz will open Tuesday for the Circle Center Music Series from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
In late December, it was announced the mall was being sold.
Circle Centre Development Company's partners reached an agreement to sell their interest in the mall to Hendricks Commercial Properties.
The CEO and president of Hendricks told 13News that some parts of the building will be preserved and others would be torn down.
