New IFD station on College Avenue will replace century-old facility

The new station will cost about $7.5 million and should be completed in August 2025, a spokesperson said.

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Fire Department held a ceremonial groundbreaking Thursday for a new north side station.

IFD Station 32 will be located in the 6300 block of North College Avenue and will replace the current station on nearby Guilford Avenue.

The two-story, 14,000-square-foot station will be home to an engine and a tanker, and will have room for additional apparatus in a third bay.

Construction is estimated to cost about $7.5 million, with the fire station expected to open in August 2025.
