LAWRENCE, Indiana — An Indiana autism center just announced the opening of an academy in Lawrence to help teach life skills to kids with autism.
Centria Autism provides specialized therapy like Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) to children across Indiana with autism who are 5 years old or younger.
The organization just announced its new Life Skills Autism Academy (LSAA) center in Lawrence.
“We are proud to be able to serve more families across Indiana by expanding access to ABA therapy services,” said Timothy Yeager, chief clinical officer at Centria Autism. “The first few years of life are vital for skills development. For children with autism, the early, intensive intervention we provide at our centers can build a strong foundation so the child can successfully navigate daily life and, eventually, the school system.”
The center opened its doors at 5515 N. Post Road on Monday, Jan. 22. The new facility is open to 68 clients at a time.
“Our clients are at the center of our model of care, where we listen, create environments of joy, empower them to use their voices and ultimately support them through challenging contexts so that they can better learn to cope with different experiences," Yeager said.
Another center will also open in Speedway in March 2024.
