INDIANAPOLIS — A woman was slightly injured and her dog was killed in a house fire on Indianapolis' near northwest side early Tuesday.
The fire was reported around 1 a.m. Oct. 1 in the 1000 block of West 33rd Street, near Dr. M.L.K. Jr. Street.
The Indianapolis Fire Department said in a social media post that responding firefighters arrived to heavy fire coming from the home. The woman told them she escaped the home through a window and wasn't able to get her dog.
The fire was brought under control in roughly 20 minutes.
Now, police are investigating the cause of the fire.
