MUNCIE, Ind. (WTHR) - A mother was jailed more than a year after her baby died in a Muncie home.
Tricia Cavanaugh is accused of neglect for falling asleep on her bed next to the four-month-old child, who was face down when she woke up.
Prosecutors say Cavanaugh also tested positive for four controlled substances.
An autopsy didn't determine a cause of death for the infant, but found that unsafe sleeping conditions were a factor.
Court records show that Cavanaugh had been warned multiple times about the dangers of co-sleeping before her daughter died.
