Mother and sister of the late Ryan White share his legacy at Children's Museum

Jeanne and Andrea White will return to the Children's Museum to share Ryan's story at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 7.

INDIANAPOLIS — Ryan White's family continues to share his story 30 years after he died from AIDS.

His mom, Jeanne White-Ginder and sister, Andrea White, were at the Children's Museum of Indianapolis on Saturday. They visited guests in the 'Power of Children' gallery, which includes a replica of Ryan's room.

White was just 13-years-old when he was diagnosed with the disease. He contracted the virus through a tainted blood treatment for his hemophilia. His mother says... Ryan is an example of the impact one person can make.

"People Ryan's age that are parents now bringing their kids in. They knew the story, they lived through the story, and now they're teaching their kids about the story," said White-Ginder. "And about the items in the room because the items were a replica of that era. 'Oh I had that when I was a kid," just to start the conversation going about Ryan's story and all these teenagers, that kids can make a difference."

Jeanne and Andrea White will return to the Children's Museum to share Ryan's story on Sunday. Their special presentation begins at 2:00 p.m.
