Marion County Superior Court Judge Shatrese Flowers dies

Judge Shatrese M. Flowers had served on the bench since 2014.

INDIANAPOLIS — A longtime public servant to Indiana has died. 

The Marion County Superior Court announced on Nov. 5 that Judge Shatrese M. Flowers has died. Flowers presided over Marion Superior Court 28 and handled the most serious cases in Marion County. 

Judge Flowers served as a Master Commissioner for the Marion Superior Court from 2005 until she was elected to the bench in 2014. She served as the Supervising Judge of the Jury Pool and the Arrestee Processing Center during her time on the court. Beginning in 2021, she served as an Associate Presiding Judge of the Executive Committee.

A DePauw graduate, Flowers worked as an Assistant Corporation Counsel with the Office of Corporation Counsel and as a Deputy Public Defender for the Marion County Public Defender Agency before joining the bench.
