INDIANAPOLIS — The Marion County prosecutor is planning to host two youth basketball clinics on June 27.
This will be the fourth series of clinics, which will focus on the fundamentals of the game.
The events are free and open to the public, but parents and guardians will need to register children.
The 10 a.m. - noon session is for children 8-10 years old. The 1-3 p.m. session is for children 11-12 years old. Both will be held at the Friendship Westside Center for Excellence, located at 3131 W. 16th St.
“The Prosecutor’s Office is committed to meaningful engagement with the entire community, especially our youth,” Prosecutor Ryan Mears said. “The relationships I built on the court over the years have had a lasting impact, and I hope by providing spaces for positive engagement, we can create similar opportunities for our youth. We want young people to know that we are here to help, whether it’s on the court or inside a courtroom—we are here to support you.”
The prosecutor's office said the basketball clinics are an opportunity for young people to build friendships, stay active, work as a team and have fun.
