Marion County deputy returns to job days after IHOP shooting

The Marion County sheriff's sergeant shot over the weekend is already back on the job.

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - The Marion County sheriff's sergeant shot over the weekend is already back on the job.

The sheriff's office shared a photo Thursday of Sgt. David Clemmons at his desk. Clemmons took a bullet in the leg Saturday morning during a disturbance at the IHOP on 38th Street.

He and Deputy Norris Etwan were working security when two men tried to rob the restaurant and exchanged gunfire with the them.

Police arrested both of the suspected robbers, who are now facing charges in the case.
