INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD is investigating after a pedestrian was killed in a crash on the east side of Indianapolis Wednesday night.
An IMPD spokesperson said a vehicle struck a man in the 2000 block of North Sherman Drive, near East 21st Street, around 9:30 p.m. Feb. 28. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene.
On Feb. 29, the Marion County Coroner's Office identified the man as 59-year-old Darryl Maury Suggs.
Accident investigators responded to the scene of the crash.
Police have not shared any additional information on the circumstances of the incident.
EDITOR'S NOTE: A police report indicated the car that struck the man fled the scene. IMPD clarified Thursday morning that it was not a hit-and-run.
