INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD is investigating after a man was shot and killed on Indy's east side early Monday morning.
Around 1:30 a.m., officers responded to a report of the shooting in the 7900 block of Corinthian Road, near 21st Street and Franklin Road.
When police arrived on the scene, they found the victim who had been shot. Medics took the man to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The Marion County Coroner's Office is working to determine an exact manner and cause of death, and will identify the victim once family has been contacted.
Capt. John Arvin with IMPD said a caller reported shots fired in the same area just 30 minutes before this shooting happened.
IMPD also responded to two other shootings within just a few hours Sunday night and early Monday morning.
"We need to find better ways to work this out," Arvin said. "Things shouldn't be like this this close to the holidays."
