SPEEDWAY, Ind. — One person is dead after being struck by a car in Speedway Saturday evening.
Speedway police responded to the 2900 block of North High School Road, near Crawfordsville Road, on a report of a person struck by a vehicle around 6:50 p.m. Dec. 2.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers said the man was hit while crossing the street.
The Marion County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 34-year-old Guillermo Morales-Hernandez.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and reportedly cooperated fully with the investigation. Police say at this time, they don't believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
The investigation is currently ongoing.
