COLUMBUS, Ind. — Police are investigating after a man was critically injured in a shooting at a Columbus home Wednesday night.
Around 10:30 p.m. Oct. 11, Columbus Police Department officers and Bartholomew County Sheriff's Office deputies were called to a home in the 1900 block of Pinebrooke Court, near Central Avenue and Rocky Ford Road, for a report of a robbery with shots fired.
There they found an unresponsive man in the yard who had been shot. Officers performed CPR, and the man was later flown to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, where he was last listed in critical condition, police said.
Officers located the gun believed to have been used in the shooting at the scene, and also detained and interviewed a man who detectives believe fired the gun. That man was later released from custody.
The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
