INDIANAPOLIS — The Lucas Oil company is settling in at new global headquarters at Keystone at the Crossing.
The ribbon cutting for the offices takes place on Tuesday, Nov. 12, but the Lucas family gave 13News an exclusive preview Monday, Nov. 11.
The second generation of the family, Morgan Lucas and his wife, Katie, now run the company day-to-day. Lucas Oil just moved its headquarters from California to a brand new 70,000-square-foot facility on the north side of Indianapolis at 3610 River Crossing Pkwy.
"We purchased this building and originally thought we'd do some minimal renovations: new paint, maybe take down a wall or two," Lucas Oil President Katie Lucas said. "We ended up tearing down every single wall, and it is a complete rebuild."
The company that makes engine oils, additives and lubricants was little known by most in Indianapolis 18 years ago when it put its name on the football stadium with a 20-year deal for $122 million.
"It really helped lift our business up, put us in a lot of different places, and we feel like our brand, our product, is quality to the point where people try it, they use it, they like it, and hopefully, they come back to use more, but they're also telling their friends about it," Lucas Oil CEO Morgan Lucas said.
Morgan's parents, Forrest and Charlotte Lucas, were born in Indiana and started the company 35 years ago.
The new headquarters feature a museum highlighting the company's involvement in racing and other sports, as well as an area that celebrates service to the community.
Meeting spaces are named for the core values of the company, like the Courage conference room. Break rooms are named for products.
Lucas Oil also owns and operates MAVTV, the only cable TV network dedicated exclusively to motorsports. The network day-to-day operations are in the new headquarters.

The move to Indianapolis aims to streamline operations with the Lucas Oil manufacturing plants in Corydon, Indiana.
"Indianapolis and Indiana is a great place to live, to do business, to raise a family, and now, we're all together in one state," Katie said.
"We feel like there's a lot of avenues we haven't really even tapped into from a lubricant standpoint yet, and we also feel that there is a way to build a better lubricant," Morgan said.
Lucas Oil makes over 300 products, the largest variety of shelf products of any oil company in the United States.
