INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - IMPD released a new mug shot of 28-year-old Jason Brown, the man police say shot and killed Southport police Lt. Aaron Allan on July 27.
Brown is charged with one felony count of murder as well as a misdemeanor marijuana possession charge. His first court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.
Allan, 38, was responding to a report of an accident with injury near Madison Avenue and Maynard Drive around 2:30 p.m. When he arrived on the scene, one of the occupants of the vehicle fired shots, striking Allan 11 times.
