Neutered and spayed feral cats soon will be able to freely roam Indiana mobile home parks.

Governor Mike Pence on Wednesday signed into law a bill that will end a ban on the felines if they're trapped, spayed or neutered and released. It takes effect July 1.

Park residents before only could choose between letting the cat population grow out of control or having the animals killed.

Indianapolis' FACE Low-Cost Spay and Neuter Clinic community cat program Director Lisa Tudor says mobile home parks can be the perfect breeding ground for feral cats. She says the new law supports a more humane way of managing the number of feral cats in Indiana.
