INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — On Saturday, April 25, the Cancer Support Community kicked off its "Laughing Matters" fundraising event online.
More than 20,000 people logged on to WTHR's Facebook page throughout the night to watch the family-friendly comedy show and fundraiser with comic Dave Dugan. An additional 1,400 watched via the 13News app and website.
Viewers could also go online to bid on specific auction items.
13News streamed the event on our website as well as our Facebook page. There were more than 500 engagements including comments, likes and shares on the livestream via 13News' social with more than 24,000 minutes viewed throughout the night across all platforms.
The stream online received thousands of engagements as Hoosiers watched in support of the cancer community, reaching more than 41,000 people. The event, which is usually held downtown, had to be strictly online due to the pandemic.
