LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Police in Lafayette have found a 12-year-old girl who was reported missing after school Wednesday afternoon.
The Lafayette Police Department had been searching for Khaleena McClendon, who was last seen at Tecumseh Junior High School around 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 30. Shortly after 7:30 p.m., police said McClendon had been located safely after the department sent out a request for the public's help.
The girl has been reunited with her family.
Lafayette police thanked the community for sharing the information about McClendon.
"The outpouring of concern and help from residents played a crucial role in bringing Khaleena home safely," police said in a release.
