Kokomo Fire Department investigating series of 'suspicious' overnight vehicle, structure fires

The fires were all reported during the evening hours of Friday, Aug. 9 and the early morning hours of Saturday, Aug. 10 in Kokomo.

KOKOMO, Ind. — Firefighters in Kokomo are investigating a series of "suspicious" vehicle and structure fires Friday night. 

According to a Facebook post from the Professional Firefighters of Kokomo Local 396, in the evening hours of Aug. 9, several fires were reported throughout the city. The Kokomo Fire Department says there were a few vehicle fires and one structure fire that kept firefighters busy throughout the night. 

Vehicle fires were reported on West Mulberry, North Webster, West Jackson, North Wabash and West Jefferson streets. A structure fire was reported on West Taylor Street. 

KFD says there were no injuries reported and all fires are currently under investigation. 

Anyone with information or home surveillance footage of the fires is asked to contact the Kokomo Fire Department at 765-457-2636.
