Kokomo fire captain accused of exposing himself to 14-year-old nanny

On August 13, Howard County prosecutors filed a felony charge against Thomas J. Granson II for “performance before a minor that is harmful to minors.”

KOKOMO, Ind. (WTHR) — A captain at the Kokomo Fire Department has been placed on indefinite unpaid administrative leave following accusations that he exposed his genitals to his kids' 14-year-old babysitter.

On August 13, Howard County prosecutors filed a felony charge against Thomas J. Granson II for “performance before a minor that is harmful to minors.”

The babysitter claims that on several occasions Granson would walk around in his boxers making her feel "uncomfortable." Late in July, the victim claims Granson said "This is for your fantasies," and dropped the towel he was wearing, exposing himself to her. According to documents, Granson made other inappropriate comments such as "If I wanted to rape you I could because I'm stronger than you."

The victim said that she has been a nanny to the Granson's five children for approximately 18 months.

Granson was arrested but has since been released. He has an initial hearing on Aug. 24 at 9:30 a.m.
