INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — "It was worth it," Natasha Boling said with a smile.
Boling was talking about a very special surprise from superheroes and princesses at Riley Children's Hospital.
It was a Royal Encounter designed to raise spirits and just forget about the trials and tribulations the children there have to deal with each and everyday.
"Look. That's me. What? That's awesome," Iron Man observed as a little patient handed him his tiny toy Iron Man.
It is awesome.
Friday was a chance for the boys and girls at Riley Hospital to mix and mingle with royalty and a superhero.
It's the kind of day that starts with a high five and most likely leads to a hug.
Boling just knew her 6-year-old son Elias would enjoy it.
"We have been here a little over three weeks for some respiratory and belly problems, so we wanted to come down and meet the superheroes," she said. "He got his picture with all the princesses."
They were all there: Rapunzel, Snow White, Mulan and Anna.
Since he is on a ventilator, getting out his room is not an easy thing so his nurse decided to make it happen by coming along.
"It's totally worth it," Nurse Traci Dayhoff said. "He's been staring at the ceiling in his room for 30 days. I'm sure it means a lot to him to be out of the room as well."
It means a lot to all the children who were able to take part.
