- A Marion County jury has convicted a man in a February 2016 homicide.

Rito Llamas-Juarez was shot to death in what began as an online transaction to purchase a wireless phone. It happened in a parking lot near the 3900 block of N. Post Rd.

Larry Thomas was convicted of murder, felony murder, and attempted robbery resulting in serious bodily injury.

The prosecutor said cell phone records were used to help identify Thomas as a suspect. Police found .223 caliber ammunition in Thomas' home, the same type used in the homicide. Technicians also found a fingerprint matched to Thomas on the inside of an iPhone box found inside the victim's vehicle.

Sentencing is June 21.
