FISHERS, Ind. — Fishers continued its Juneteenth celebration Saturday at Nickel Plate Amphitheater downtown.
Recent high school graduate, Chase Iseghohi, helped organize the event saying he wanted to create an opportunity to celebrate Black culture and history in his community.
In less than a week, Iseghohi and his friends planned the event inviting Black-owned businesses and performers.
“Not too long ago we had a demonstration at this same exact place in Fishers and I wanted people to see that those are not the only times Black people are coming together but there are also times we are here to celebrate us,” Iseghohi said.
Dozens came out to dance, listen to music and purchase items from local businesses.
Iseghohi said he was blown away by all the support.
