UPDATE: Shortly after the outage was reported by the sheriff's office, the Johnson County 911 call center said they were able to accept 911 calls using a backup system.
The public should see no change in the service.
The call center says AT&T is investigating the cause of the outage.

JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. (WTHR) – The Johnson County Sheriff's Office says the 911 call center is currently down.
The center is experiencing problems with the 911 system and can't take calls.
Until the system is back up, people are being advised to call (317) 736-5155 for both emergencies and non-emergencies.
The sheriff's office did not say when the system is expected to be working again.
