More than 400 pizza makers from all over Italy gathered in Naples Wednesday in an effort to set a new world record for the longest pizza ever made.
The pizza chefs worked on the creation for 11 hours. The effort was put together outdoors on the Naples waterfront.
The record was broken with a 6,000-foot-long margherita pizza, which is more than 1.1 miles of pie.
When you make a pizza that long, the oven travels along. It's on wheels and is the length of the pizza!
The pizza beat the old record by more than 1,000 feet. That previous record was set last year in Milan.
Officials from Guinness World Records measured the pie and certified the record.
The chefs made the pizza using 4,400 pounds of mozzarella; 4,400 pounds of flour; 3,300 pounds of tomato sauce; 53 gallons of oil and 66 pounds of fresh basil.
