Indianapolis Public Schools police are investigating after an alleged threat was made on social media against an east side school.

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — IPS police are investigating after an alleged threat was made on social media against Christian Park School 82.

The elementary school's principal Paul Wirth shared the message on Facebook Sunday night at 10:45 p.m. and said the following:

"Earlier today, I learned of a potential threat made against Christian Park School 82 that was posted on social media. I immediately contacted IPS Police and the matter is currently under investigation to determine the validity of the threat. IPS Police is working in collaboration with local law enforcement to conduct a full investigation."

Principal Worth went on to say several IPS police officers will be at the school Monday to provide additional security during the morning arrival and will stay at the school through the day.

He also said the school will be placed on a limited lockdown, which limits who is able to enter the school.

The alert was also shared with students' parents through ConnectED.

Christian School 82 is located on the city's east side at 4700 English Avenue near Emerson Avenue.
