INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis Public Schools has announced the hiring of a new director of safety and security.
The school district announced Tuesday, May 14 that IMPD Cmdr. Ida Williams is taking the job.
It's a new position for IPS. A statement from the district says Williams will help prevent and prepare for emergencies.
She will work with district leaders and members of the IPS community to plan, evaluate and train.
Williams starts the new job on June 24.
