IndyGo offering free rides for Thanksgiving, Christmas

INDIANAPOLIS — IndyGo is offering free rides this holiday season.

The agency announced it would provide fare-free service on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day for fixed route and IndyGo Access services.

On Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28, buses will operate on a Sunday schedule. IndyGo's call center will be open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the Care Center Desk at the Julia M. Carson Transit Center will be open from 9 a.m. to noon.

The same Sunday schedules will apply on Christmas Day. 

IndyGo will also offer free rides on New Year's Eve after 8 p.m., with regular schedules. Sunday schedules for fixed route and IndyGo Access Services will apply on New Year's Day, but with regular fare required, the agency said.

IndyGo encourages riders to plan their trip using Google Maps, the Transit app or by visiting the IndyGo website.
