INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - Central Indiana's first snow of the season signals the end of many major road construction projects. But crews will continue to work this weekend to finish projects started over the summer.
- Friday night in downtown Indianapolis, watch for lane closures on I-70 eastbound. The two right lanes will be blocked around the Madison Avenue/East Street exits from 9 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Saturday. Crews will be grinding down bumps in the pavement.
- On the south side of Indianapolis, the right lane of northbound I-65 will be blocked from Southport Road up to I-465 starting at 9 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Monday for overnight work. The southbound I-65 exit to Southport Road will have intermittent closures between Friday night and Monday morning. The northbound I-65 exit to Southport will also see intermittent closures nightly. And the entrance ramp from Southport Road to northbound I-65 will close Saturday night into Sunday morning.
- On the southeast side, starting Friday night I-465 in both directions will have rolling lane closures all weekend. Crews are scheduled for joint repair along and to install pavement markers along the stretch of highway between I-70 and I-65 on the south side. The ramp from Shadeland Avenue to I-465 northbound will close Friday night through Monday morning.
- Watch for Saturday work on the northwest side at the I-465/I-74 interchange. The I-74 westbound ramp from I-465 northbound will have the right lane closed for repairs most of the day Saturday. The Crawfordsville Road ramp to I-74 westbound will be closed most of the day. The ramp from Crawfordsville Road to I-465 northbound will remain open.
- Also on the northwest side, the ramp from northbound Martin Luther King, Jr. Street to southbound I-65 will close
- On the north side, lanes on I-465 will be restricted in both directions between Ditch and Springmill roads during the day Saturday. Northbound traffic between East 56th Street around to U.S. 31 will be down to one lane from Friday night until Monday morning. And the ramp from Keystone Avenue to westbound I-465 will close Friday night until Monday morning.
- In Anderson, the ramp from State Road 9/109 to I-69 southbound will close Sunday morning at 9 a.m. until approximately 3 p.m. Sunday afternoon as crews complete paving.
