INDOT: Employee seriously injured in Henry County crash involving rollover dump truck

The incident was reported Tuesday morning along Indiana State Road 38 near the town of Markleville, around 14 miles west of New Castle.

HENRY COUNTY, Indiana — An INDOT employee was seriously injured in a crash involving a rollover dump truck in Henry County Tuesday morning.

The incident was reported around 10:15 a.m. July 23 along Indiana State Road 38 near the town of Markleville, around 14 miles west of New Castle. 

An alert from the INDOT Traffic Management Center, citing the department's Greenfield district, said both directions of State Road 38 were closed between County Road 400 East and 975 West.

All lanes were reopened shortly after 11:30 a.m.

The Henry County Sheriff's Office told 13News that an INDOT truck rolled over in a single-vehicle crash, ejecting the 51-year-old driver, who suffered "very serious head trauma."

The driver of this INDOT truck was ejected during a crash near County Road 975 West and State Road 38 in Henry County.

She was taken by LifeLine helicopter to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. 

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
