Indianapolis woman dies after crash on I-65 near Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ind — An Indianapolis woman has died following a crash on Interstate 65 in Bartholomew County Saturday morning.

According to a release from Indiana State Police, around 9:45 a.m. on Nov. 2, 45-year-old Omotope G. Oyediran was driving a 2011 Honda CRV on southbound I-65, near the Columbus rest area, when, for an unknown reason, she left the west side of the roadway. 

Oyediran's car then traveled into the rest area and struck a parked semi truck. 

Police said the driver of the semi was in the sleeper cabin at the time of the impact and was not injured. However, police say Oyediran sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead by the coroner. 

ISP says the crash investigation is ongoing.
