Indianapolis Public Library's Glendale branch closes; new location to open in March

The opening at 3660 E. 62nd St. is scheduled for Saturday, March 30.

INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis Public Library has closed its Glendale branch.

The branch, which was located at 6101 N. Keystone Ave. on the north side of Indianapolis, officially closed Saturday, Feb. 24.

The library's new location at 3660 E. 62nd St., which is the former site of John Strange Elementary School, is scheduled to open Saturday, March 30.

According to the Indianapolis Public Library, the new branch will include the following: 

  • Maximized access to library services and collections
  • Improved library access and visibility
  • Increased access to computers and new technologies
  • Group study rooms and tutoring spaces
  • Community meeting room with a capacity of 100 people
  • Energy resource conservation - LEEDv4 Silver Certification
  • Drive-up material return
