INDIANAPOLIS — The city of Indianapolis is providing free face masks to residents through IndyGo.
The masks are available at a table outside the Julia Carson Transit Center downtown.
The distribution continues Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to noon while supplies last.
Each person is allowed up to five masks. Marion County residents can also request a free mask on the city website.
Anyone without an email address can request a mask by calling the Mayor's Action Line at 317-327-4622.
The city said its priority is providing face coverings for those unable to purchase or obtain a face covering, older adults and people who have serious underlying medical conditions.
The face masks are blue with an "Indy" logo and are for adults only, one size fits most.
The CDC recommends against face coverings for children 2 years old or younger and for anyone who has trouble breathing.
