INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — A motorcyclist has died following a crash on the city's east side.

The wreck happened just after 6 p.m. Sunday along I-465 northbound, near I-70.

When first responders arrived, they found 67-year-old William Brown of Indianapolis unresponsive. He was taken to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition where he later died.

Indiana State Trooper Christopher Cannon, who was investigating the crash, believes the motorcyclist began swerving back and forth before losing control and laying the motorcycle on its side.

Police say Brown was not wearing a helmet, there were no other vehicles involved in the wreck and they don't believe alcohol was a factor.

A blood test, which is standard protocol for all fatal crashes, is not yet available.
