Indianapolis church gives away Thanksgiving meals

More than 300 families received a box filled with green beans, stuffing, dinner rolls and more.

INDIANAPOLIS — An Indianapolis church is making it easy for families to get their Thanksgiving meal together.

Living Water Fellowship Church on East 46th Street hosted its annual "Thanksgiving in a Box" event Saturday. More than 300 families received a box filled with green beans, stuffing, dinner rolls and more. They also took home a Kroger gift card to buy a turkey.

"You think the pandemic is over, but the cost of groceries has skyrocketed, so I think that they're very appreciative," said Living Waters Fellowship Church member Bobbie Morris.

"We have a lot of repeat people that come through the line, and they know that every year we're able to pass out and give them something, so I know how grateful they are," said Bryan Tichner, who is also a member of the church.

Along with the families who received meals in person Saturday, Living Water Fellowship Church also partnered with other churches to deliver meal kits.
