INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis firefighters are investigating an arson that happened on the city's southwest side early Sunday morning.
According to a social media post from the Indianapolis Fire Department, around 1 a.m. Aug. 11, firefighters responded to a residential fire in the 1300 block of South Belmont Avenue, near West Morris Street.
IFD said firefighters made an aggressive attack and were able to bring the fire under control in 15 minutes without any injuries.
The cause of the fire however is being called arson. IFD is asking anyone with information about the fire to contact the Indiana Arson Hotline at 1-800-382-4628 or Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-TIPS (8477).
