INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - The Indianapolis Episcopal Diocese is breaking new ground this weekend. There's a new female bishop.
And she is the only African-American woman in charge of an Episcopal Diocese.
Saturday, Jennifer Baskerville-Burrows became the 11th bishop of the Indianapolis diocese.
Her ordination and consecration service took place at Clowes Hall on Butler's campus.
She's now leading more than 10-thousand people in 48 congregations from Indianapolis to the Ohio River.
