Indianapolis Department of Public Works launches trash collection survey

The department says it is not just collecting feedback for future contracts, but also evaluating their current contracts.

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Department of Public Works is offering residents a say in the next trash collection contract. 

According to a press release, Indy DPW is negotiating the next solid waste collection contract and is launching a survey for Indianapolis residents to gather feedback on which company the department should select. 

Currently, trash collection is handled by Indy DPW, Waste Management and Republic Waste Services of Indiana. New service contracts will go into effect beginning in 2026. Residents can take the survey by clicking here

Indy DPW said it is not only evaluating future service contracts, but also evaluating their current services.
