INDIANAPOLIS — Nearly six hours before kick off, Colts fans were out getting ready for the big home game.
“We waited a long time for this, and we are back," said Braumson Brumley.
Fans tell 13News every season home opener is always one of the biggest tailgates in Touchdown Town.
You couldn't walk through without seeing food, drinks and even decked out vehicles.
"It’s just a great experience before the game, and its a big family atmosphere out here," said Tracey Streit.
That family is growing every year. The Blue Crew has been at every single home game for around 25 years. Every game, they invite more fans from all over the country.
13News caught up with one group from Hawaii. They say their wives surprised them with tickets and this is their first time to Indy and a Colts game.
“We can't even control it, this is crazy," one of the fans said. "The welcoming and family and all the love these people have shown to us being out of state is amazing."
One of the main areas of excitement for lots of Colts fans was seeing Richardson take the field again, in what feels like his rookie year after he was injured for the season last year.
"The Richardson era part two begins today, you know cut short last year so we are going to see how this goes," said Perry Fiscus.
An era these fans are excited to watch all season long.
