INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis Colts center Ryan Kelly and his wife Emma hosted a baby shower Tuesday for the community.
The event celebrated parents preparing to welcome a new child.
The Kellys lost their first daughter, Mary Kate, to stillbirth. Since then, their grief has motivated their advocacy work.
During Tuesday's event at the Colts Complex, parents-to-be received support and resources to make sure their new additions are healthy and happy.
"This is such an amazing time in your life, but it also can be very challenging financially, physically, all the things, so we wanted to bring the community together to celebrate them, empower them, uplift them and most importantly, educate them. There's a lot of things that we aren't told when we are expecting, and so this is just a beautiful way to encourage, empower and educate all of these expectant parents," Emma said.
Last year, the Kellys welcomed twin boys, Duke and Ford. And just last month, baby Stella was born.
