TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHR) - A Terre Haute man faces felony charges for driving drunk with his kids in the car.
State Police say Austin J. Sedletzeck, 27, was driving on the State Road 641 bypass south of Interstate 70 Saturday night just before 8 p.m. when his car rear-ended another vehicle.
Nobody was injured.
Sedletzeck ran from the accident scene but a Putnamville state trooper found him. Sedletzeck showed signs of impairment and was found to have a blood alcohol content of .29%.
The children who were with Sedletzeck in his vehicle were released to their mother. Sedletzeck was arrested and taken to the Vigo County Jail.
Sedletzeck faces five criminal charges:
- Operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a passenger less than 18 years of age - Class 6 Felony
- Neglect of Dependent - Class 6 Felony
- Operating a Vehicle a Vehicle With a BAC .15 or more - Class A Misdemeanor
- Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated endangering a person - Class C Misdemeanor
- Driving While Suspended (Prior) - Class A Misdemeanor
