SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - Winter weather wreaked havoc on roads around South Bend Thursday morning.
Police reported almost 50 crashes just in St. Joseph County, including a 13-car pileup near the Notre Dame campus.
The accident happened on a hill just north of the St. Joseph River.
Police said some cars lost control while driving down the hill, while others slipped backward trying to get up the hill.
