Popular Parke County Covered Bridge Festival is underway

One of the largest and most popular festivals of the fall in Indiana starts Friday.

PARKE COUNTY, Ind. (WTHR) - A fall event popular with many Hoosiers starts this weekend.

More than one million people are expected to visit the ten day Parke County Covered Bridge Festival.

There will be vendors in Mansfield, Rockville and the Bridgeton areas.

Indiana State Police urge everyone to be safe.

"When you come to the area, number one, be prepared to walk," said Sgt. Matt Ames. "Number two, when you are driving, make sure you're not following too close, that you're not driving while distracted and that you are paying attention to all the troopers that are in the area."

As for the weather this weekend, it sounds like people will need to bundle up.
